Description

Our Victorian Rocking Horse woodworking plan is based on centuries old classics from England.  Unlike the English design, no carving is required on this project.  The horse can be constructed as a decorator for the parlor or as a functional rocking horse with a long graceful rock.  Children adore this horse.  The unique bow rockers feature the traditional boat-like format.  Several options are offered in the plan including using real horse hair (shown) and a leather-like English riding saddle.  Sources are listed for the accessories.  There are also patterns for making the mane and tail in wood (see additional photo) if preferred.  Only general woodworking techniques and tools are needed.  The overall length is 69″, height to the top of the head is 39″, height to the top of the seat is 33″ and the width at the widest part of the rockers is 17″.  For intermediate to advanced woodworkers. Our 11″ x 17″ plans take little workbench space. The copyrights allow making a photocopy of the full size patterns.  Trim out the patterns, apply spray adhesive on the backs and place on stock prepared to the thickness noted on the pattern.  You get accurate parts and no tracing.  We mail fast, usually within one business day.
