Our kaleidoscope is inspired by home furnishings of the Romantic Era in the late 1800's.  The optics are easy to build using first (front) surface mirrors which will reproduce vivid color and dazzling patterns.  Mirror sources are listed.  A geared shaft allows rotating the object box from the viewing end.  An optional lighting system can be added to enhance images in low light.  Even with the rounded parts, no lathe work is required.  Two wood varieties are shown.
